Claydon
Can any one clarify for me, I have a McNab Lowlander with 76mm (3") chamber, does this mean that it will take loads marked as "Magnum", i have heard people refer to 3" as magnum but thought it was more to do with pressure limits. I have been given some t. matrix cartridges marked as "magnum" which i will use for geese later in the year if the guns upto it not sure how to tell. Devilishdave
Yes it will be fine with the 3 inch magnums but dont go for 3 1/2 magnum shells though unless the gun is chambred for them. Dave
Claydon
Thanks DD, i have been checking the marks and it has "PSF" under 2 stars which confirms it ok. Response appreciated Claydon :o

Goose carts are all nontoxic/steel (or they should be) I'd get a smithy to tell you for sure , I thought the McNab lowlander was a light weight gun , its going to give you a hell of a Knock with 3" magnums in it WB
Devilishdave
You can get Lowlander with 3 1/2 chambres!! Dave
Claydon
Spoke to McNab who confirmed that this is magnum proof, can also use steel, but they said dont choke any tighter the 1/2.
Devilishdave
No tighter than 1/2 was the advise on the side of the last box of steel i bought! Dave
Claydon
The chap at McNab said that any tighter and steel can rip the chokes out !! I guess as its not as malable as lead when it reaches the constriction it can grip the sides with immense pressure That would surprise something !! 36grms of steel and a choke up its backside
