Luckyshot
Set out to go ferreting this morning at 5:30am and got to this permission at 6:30am just as it was starting to break light. Quite a few rabbits on the edge of the field even though the weather was **** rained all morning. We were just doing the one field today as we had to be at another farm for dinner time As we walked over the field the sheep ran to the far edge scaring all the rabbits down the holes which was a bonus for us as we could see roughly where they went. Most of the sets were roughly 12 holers with the occasional 3 holers out in the middle of the field. After netting the first set we bolted 4 rabbits all quickly dispatched by my mate. We then moved onto the next set down and worked the edge of the 10 acre field from one end to the other producing another 13 rabbits cought and 7 rabbits getting away through some sly little bolt holes that we both missed. We were unable to use the shotgun for the runners as the is a flight pond on the far side of the field with about 150 ducks in ready for the farmer and his neighbours to have a few days shooting. islandmartin
I'd call that a successful morning's work. Pity you couldn't get the runners but there's always next time!
