Guy's,

I'm in the market for a sat nav system, with so many out there, have any of you had good or bad ones?

So far, I don't like the tomtom, the navman looks good but I have read problems about them, the mitac looks ok but you can't update the poi with anything?

Help!

Adam

I've got a Garmin Street Pilot II and its pretty good. Its Reliable and has always given me the correct directions. It doesnt have an anoying American voice either which is always a bonus. The build quality is superb and fully water proof. Its an out of date model now so I cant speak for the newer Garmin range.

The downside of it is (and its a big one); once youve forked out the initial capital in the purchase, the street maps go out of date then they hump you for new map software at about a £100 a time - which is in effect a running cost.

Like Pike said they dont in general have speed camera locations on them. Thats what a Snooper is for which I am the proud owner also. Its a Snooper S4 neo which can detect Laser devices but not radar which is alright because radar guns are old technology that is being fased out in favour of laser guns instead. Snooper devices have a running cost also which is update of the database.

I've had Tomtom Go for the last 6 ish months and can't say anything bad about it.

Easy to use, gets you there and can move from onr car to another in minutes.

Forgot to say, you can also download all the speed cameras onto tomtom :o
