My old man is heading to the Bay around the same time as you - I think he's there middle of Jan for a week.

This will be his 5th of 6th yearly outing there and so far he hasn't come back empty handed :good:

I might be joining him there for a couple of days if I can get the time off

  • 4 weeks later...

was at wigtown bay last week , had a two pinks in the fog one morning and shot a canada the next day. other than that slinging it down!!!!

plenty of geese flying very high by the time they hit the shore, was a cracking to watch. seen alot of canada geese must be due to the

cold spell pushing them onto the shore line. off on the 13th to see the season off taking the old w richards 3.5 inch ten bore to give her

a run out!

Are you back off to Wigtown on the 13th?

I'm taking my Elderkin Greylag up there for an airing as well as the Escort Magnum on the 14th, coming back on the 20th.

It's a week off work watching geese if nothing else

I love it. Makes a change from sitting in the office! Where are you staying when you're up there?

yes its a nice place not the easiest place to down a goose! been going four years now and had the highs and lows.

im staying at nether bar steading on the main road this time, but i usually stay with me mate who has his own shoot

up that way. i shoot the reserve a bit , but also shift round on the other part of the foreshore where you can get the

access.
