out of interest if it had been a jack snipe ,and it isnt,were you aware that you have provided all the info that is needed to be prosecuted for shooting a protected species ,probably best not to put dead pictures up if you dont know what they are.A jack snipe usually springs without a sound and flies only a little way before dropping in again and they are smaller than the common snipe,they are not protected in Ireland i believe.Not trying to be clever but would hate to see you lose your licence and face prosecution.The other chap who posted his dead crow pictures when they were jackdaws could in my part of the country have easily shot a raven and then posted the evidence on this forum ...just a thought.... PS ravens are protected also.
