henry d Posted January 9, 2010 Report Share Posted January 9, 2010 After her stroke on Boxing day and a good initial recovery, my 15 year old ESS Poppy has finally had to be taken to the vets to be put down. She has spent 13 years as a good companion in the beating line, in hides after pigeon and geese, and even on the shore in horizontal rain. She retrieved all birds and even a fox once, but had a dislike for any dogs that tried it on, hence her nickname of "Jaws". Thank you for being such a good friend. I went trough the same,a couple of years ago and every time I see a German Pointer,I get the same feeling all over again.
