Cranfield Posted February 1, 2003 Report Share Posted February 1, 2003 Have you been out in it today ? It was the last syndicate shoot today, but I missed it. My daughter and a girl friend went to Portugal today and the friends father was due to do the Heathrow run. On my way to the Shoot, I get a call, the father has looked at the snow and "wimped out". It was too late to go by train, so I turned around and went back home. I took them, slowly, but we got there on time. Anyway, I noticed lots of large flocks of pigeons, flying around and settling on the rape fields alongside the M25. They seem to panic when it snows. Did anyone get some good shooting today ? neil Posted February 1, 2003 Report Share Posted February 1, 2003 I went roost shooting,its been lovely weather here today,(a bit to nice,not very windy)but quite a few guns about to keep what little there was moving,ended up with 3 and 8 squirrels,what it lacked in birds it made up for with the squirrels :( and nice weather.It was just a nice afternoon to be out and about.Tomorrow its clays Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Craigie Posted February 1, 2003 Report Share Posted February 1, 2003 I went out Friday for what was going to be Keepers day with all the beaters coming, only 6 of us turned up because of the snow and bad traffic (A1 blocked) so we had a great walked up day 17 pheasants 6 partridge 1 rabbit 1 squirrel and 4 ducks. What a beautiful day it was, snow on the ground sun shining, little bit of wind, the woods looked spectacular with all the snow hanging on to all the branches, and great company.
