garyb
I really rate the stuff! Makes both my shotguns and rifle barrels shine! You should be able to mail order it from http://www.stutleygun.co.uk/contactus.html
bullet boy
Hoppes 009-Brilliant stuff!
chrisv
I like Butch's bore shine, it's gentle enough to leave for a long soak. Other popular ones are Forrest Bore Foam and Shooters Choice
Rem223
I like Butch's bore shine, it's gentle enough to leave for a long soak.Other popular ones are Forrest Bore Foam and Shooters Choice x2 for Butch's bore shine. It stinks but it gets copper out. Hoppes benchrest is ok, but the 009 is not much good at removing copper. Its primarily designed to remove powder fouling. However the best product I have used so far is Wipe-out. A foaming bore cleaner. I don't know if anyone stocks it in the UK. One tiny spray is all you need. Leave it for a while and push a patch through followed by a dry patch and you're done. http://www.sharpshootr.com/wipeout.htm
macca
Hi, Boretech Eliminator is the best Ive found - removes successive layers of copper and carbon - nylon bristle brush and cloth patches only - dont need metal brushes. Cheers
Mr_Logic
I use: 009 on powder (it being a powder solvent) Tetra on copper Bore foam Action blaster napier gun cleaner they all have a place.
Silhouette
009 is the only solvent I use. Regular cleaning with a Phosphor Bronze brush and 009 will mean you are unlikely to need any other lead/Copper solvents for some time.
Vince Green
Shooters Choice for me. Its faster than 009 for removing copper or lead but I also have a bottle of Shooters Choice copper remover that I use from time to time to give the bore a real birthday. Don't use any of them though as a rust preventer to keep in the bore. For that I use Express Gun Oil but always swab it out with a couple of dry patches before shooting.
