Chris Bb
But Venables, now 27, was recalled to prison in February after allegedly breaching the terms of his licence. He is charged with two offences under the 1978 Protection of Children Act. Early stage It is alleged that he downloaded 57 indecent images of children between February 2009 and February 2010. He is secondly accused of distributing seven images between 1 and 23 February this year by allowing other people to access files on his computer through a peer-to-peer network. The case is at a very early stage and will return to court on 23 July. That hearing will be the first opportunity for Venables to indicate whether he will be pleading guilty or not guilty to the alleged offences. Were he to plead not guilty, he would eventually appear before a jury under his new name. If he pleads guilty, the case will quickly move to sentencing. So you're doing jury service when a 27 year old is wheeled in on 2 charges of.......... Doesn't exactly take Sherlock Holmes to work out who you're dealing with, does it? Watch the ****** walk, yet again. He's obviously no good, deal with it!

Boromir
Cant we just get him hanged? it will end all this and bring real Justice. Just think if it was your boy that he killed what would you be saying then? He doesnt need protecting from the public we need protection from him as simply you cant let him out after him being caught with child porn. Zapp
This thread has nothing to do with concealed carry or members of the public shooting criminals. A post on this matter has been binned, as have the reactions of a few users heartily sick of this subject being endlessly raised. Keep the thread on topic or it gets locked. Kent Militia
What I mean to say is leave Venables' identity hidden, it should be up to the courts to decide if he should be released or not.
happypig
It should be a metter for the professionals to determine on your behalf. Risk is propertly managed and assessed. What would you do if you found out he had been living down your street, not really hiding his past, was friends with your child and was given privilages you could not afford or had to work hard for as a result of some identity protection program? Of course you are a reasonable person............... What about your neighbour? The bloke down the pub? Now do you think his identity should be public knowledge...............? Vipa
Please....... not this again..... The only thing publiscising his identity wil do is get those with the torch and pitchfork mentality to go out and hunt him down and then most probably kill him... it won't ultimately bring Jamie back, it is doubtfull it will make any one feel any better and will end up turning an otherwise 'normal' member of society into a murderer themselves. If its revenge you are after, what are you seeking revenge for? the only people who could justifiably seek revenge in this case are those close to Jamie.... were you? has Jamies mum sent you an email asking you to exact revenge on her behalf? are you some self appointed judge, jury and exocutioner? Just leave it alone and let Jamie rest in peace.... the bloody media are worse than the killers! all they do is stirr up trouble and hatred!! Mods.... please close this thread, I beg you!!!
