hi guys can anyone tell me the cheapest place to get one of these babys is?:good: cherrs matt

Hi Matt

"Mallard Barn" Gun shop at Wattisham for best price and availability, Richard normally holds quite a stock of them, you could also try "Stuart clay traps" at Melton nr Woodbridge but normally you require a mortgage to buy from them or look on Guntrader, are you mobile? if your not PM me and Ill take you to Mallard barn thats where I got mine.

i have attached an exploded view of the Hatsan Escort Magnum, all i can say is if someone rates this then they obviuosly haven't stripped it yet to throughly clean it, and if they have, they haven't stripped a well made gun! The Escort is made of cheap die cast metals and plastics, the biggest fault is the securing clip that keeps the rail attached to the chamber, it is prone to snapping, my mate who also has an escort only using 28g No4 in his (he's not a serious shooter) and has had no real problems, i however use mine for Duck and Goose so a bigger heavier cartridge is the order of the day, the cheap metals used in the Escort can not cope under pressure.

I have had to replace the clip twice so far, and have probably not fired more than about 50 shots through it!

Edgar Brothers will confirm all this!

the orange arrows in the picture shows the weakest parts.

tallpauljcb1 how can you compare the escort to the Lanber? the Lanber is far better made and if its the sporting or sporting delux it has a solid stock and is steel shot proof, so where you can't take your Escort on "proper" shoots you can take you Lanber and it will do exactly what your escort will do, only better!

Maybe some people just want to feel like Rambo running around with a semi!!!

The only thing attaching my rail to the chamber is the bolt via the bolt lever

What is supposed to snap

John Knibbs has a large selection. If you can't find what you need then Edgar Brothers are the importer, drop them a line to find out the part number and your RFD will order for you through them.

I'll stick my 2 pence in though...

I was talking to a bloke the other night and when I mentioned I shoot an auto now he went and got out a battered MK1 in camo with 3.5" chambers. He said it had never missed a beat and will chuck out 21g cartridges all day long.

I suppose these guns really are just luck of the draw, I know many get on with them and they certainly seem to have got better through other owners I've spoke to.
