Have you lost weight lately around the face..... I would go and get the gun fit checked out to make sure you are mounting it correctly and more important the gun fits you.... I use 24g all the time, stared when i had a shoulder problem, when that cleared up i just continued using them as i found them more comfortable.... I actually like using the 21g as well, but thats just me. shaun

magman
Less recoil could mean your on the second bird earlier ?
Silhouette
I was using 24g Hull Intercomp cartridges the other day for the 1st time. 100 shots later and not a hint of shoulder pain. I didn't notice any difference in the quality of breaks and long shots were still breaking clays. I have read a bit about pattern quality being better with 24g and maybe this is what you are getting with your particular gun. I will be using 24g regularly from now on and saving 28g for those long edge on shots. I hate wasting expensive lead. I hate wasting expensive lead. i`ve always used 28 gram loads in the past. now i`m tinkering with 24, 21gram loads. i had a chat with some gentlemen, in my local. the consensus is to use choked barrel. a 21g cartridge #7.5, isnt going to have a great deal of shot in it. shooting them through cylinder is going to be a disadvantage, for some target presentations. i usually shoot 1/2 minimum anyway. 3/4, 1/1, and xtra full are the only chokes i regularly use. i could be given any cartridge, and it`d do an adequate job ! for skeet, theyd be good, open. i think of it like this. choke gives you more cartridge value !
