myzeneye
guys ive got a boiler for sale if any one is interested.... its an Ideal Icos he18 condensing boiler....energy rated :sedbuk band A. high efficiency.... suitable for an open vented system (one with header tanks and a cylinder...) if your boilers half dead or your thinking you need to upgrade before long, well this is a good option... This boiler is like new but is used (just under 20 months old) it has come out of my own house and is in excellent full working order. its a tidy little wall hung, compact boiler and is complete with mounting bracket and flueand plumeing kit if needed.... as many of you know, im a heating engineer....so,as youd expect, this boiler is imacculate and has been very well cared for with reguard to maintenance/ service etc etc.... the ONLY reason i have changed the heating system in our house to a sealed system with a combi boiler in the loft was to give us the advantage of a cupboard where the hot water cylinder used to be and get the system out of the way in the roof space..... also the bright spark who installed it for the little old dear we bought our house off sited the boiler right next to the front door...this meant the flue needed an additional plumeing kit added to extend the terminal away from the door.... no big deal if it was sited elsewhere but not so hot looking next to your front door !!! the wife hated it and insisted i moved the boiler....so... i opted for a combi in the loft which got rid of the header tanks and give me loads of room up there where i keep my cabinet... so...... i have taken the boiler off the wall tonight, its unmarked in any way, and looks like brand new as its been tidily kept in a kitchen wall cabinet.... it runs/works very quietly and has the usual three pipe connections from the top....flow/return and gas.... it would make some one an ideal upgrade on their existing sytem, an easy boiler to swap and a quite reliable/simple very efficient little boiler. it has a net max heat input of 18.7KW or in old money thats 63'800 btu's... plenty big enough for your average 3 bed house. i really cant stress how good a bargain this will make someone who is in need to upgrade/renew but has little cash or better things to spend their cash on ..hahaha.. im looking for £250. see pictures/write up CLICK HERE any questions on the boiler or re:instalation questions etc...feel free to ask... i can do photo's too if needed.... myzeneye
Gas safe frown on installing 2nd hand products. No guarantee, is it safe to start with? bla bla bla. etc. gas safe frown on alot of things mate... ive been a registered gas installer for a loooonnnng time mate. let me asure you, theres not a chance on earth, not a chance, that i would offer for sale an appliance that was unsafe, broken, faulty etc etc.... if this boiler was anything other then like new id have binned it or used it for parts... but as i said, it is immaculate, as new and has been both correctly installed and removed.... no reason at all why it cant be re installed and operate safely. as for no guarentee... it works fine. no problems at all. thats coming from me as a heating engineer not just some layman who has ripped it off his wall. its clean as a whistle inside and out. i hope the are many here who know me well enough to know my word is my bond. the boiler is fine. no guarentee.....well its £250 !!! if you wanna guarentee buy a new one at aprox £600 plus vat. a coleuge in work said he'd give me £300 for it an i said i would install it for £250 as a favour...truth is, i cant be @rsed doing love jobs ...i have far too many on at the minute and my work load is crippling...... id rather just flog it on to some one who's boiler was on the blink or ancient... perhaps they know an installer or would deem themselves to be able enough to install the boiler as a replacement. let me also point out that if joe public wanted to buy this boiler and install it himself, neither the gas regulations or gas safe are a mandatory, legal obligation to him. you can install in your own home completely unqualified. fair do's, gas safe frown upon it, but it aint against the law. to "work" for "gain" in the gas industry requires mandatory levels of competance and certification as well as being a member of a governing body.......... to istall your own at home is different..... this many sound wrong to many people, but trust me,,, its the way it is. look.... the long and short of it is this......... i have, a very good boiler for sale at a very reasonable price that may help someone out of a pickle. it works fine, is'nt very old at all and is as safe as it was when it came out its box. the system in my house (as a heating engineer) was immaculate... flushed properly, filled with x100 inhibitor and ran through a magna clean filter . its spotless. to swap a boiler on this type of system is probely the easiest boiler swap anyone could do.... three pipes ! and a condensate drain of course. can be done using compression fittings, (even the gas possibly)and the existing wiring re-used..... piece of p!55. perhaps a registered gas installer could be called in to commision it if prefered and test gas tightness or to advise of flueing issues etc.. as i said, ill answer any questions.........
