ian163
Hi All, Am looking at placing a bulk order of between 250 – 500 cartridges for a 12 gauge, was wondering if anyone knows of any good suppliers. Thanks Ian
apache
Bless. Most people I know but they carts by the thousand and only save a few pounds by doing so. What do you want them for? Ring around a few local gunshops and see what they can do for you.
humperdingle
Yeh, 500 carts isn't really a bulk order, mate. I've seen guys picking up 5,000+ carts from my local RFD. Local gun shops or clay ground will be your best bet.

apache
Rgr might have to put a few zero on the end then lol It depends on your reasons and storage space. The discounts arn't usually that staggering (although you can save a fair bit rather than paying £5/25 at a clay ground). Somewhere I buy carts will do £3 less/1000 if you buy 5000 plus! That's just not worth it. There's not the big savings to be had I assumed there would be. And you have outlayed the money in one go and you have them to store. Are you new to this? Find one that suits you first before going to mad and filling the spare room
Floating Chamber
A decent bulk order to warrant a good discount of about £3 a thousand would be about 10,000.
HDAV
Depends on the cart clay carts most people buy a thousand at a time (4 big boxes of 250) I buy 250 a time as i dont have space to store 1000+ but if your looking at specialist wildfowl loads etc may be better savings look at just cartridges for an idea of price local RFD should beat them hands down Gwynedd firearms worth a call as are big clay grounds (North Wales Shooting School) etc
Vince Green
Its not worth buying cartridges in bulk to save money as the discounts are pathetic against what you have to lay out. Most people buy in bulk to save petrol and time having to keep going back for more. It never ceases to amaze me that people will spend £2000 on a shotgun then phone around to buy the cheapest cartridges they can find without wondering what corners the manufacturers have cut to make them so cheap. Its true though, at my local dealers he says quality doesn't sell, people only want cheap.

The difference between any 2 cartridges is only going to be a few % and possibly a better pattern.
Guest topshot_2k
if you are going CLA next weekend you could always grab a load from there? there is usually a couple of traders selling bulk cartridges (links below). Paid £48 per 250 32g RC SIPE Fibre which was a bargain, locally they are £55 http://clays.salientlion.net/Cartridges.htm http://www.justcartridges.com/index.html Edited July 18, 2010 by topshot_2k

ian163
I’ll be after Rabbits, foxes, pigeon and the odd duck but no clays, plastic wad preferably. Unfortunately though I’m away with work so I won’t be able to attend any of the Game fairs either.

You'll be after a variety of carts then not just the one type, if you were doing just clays or pigeons i could have sorted you 500 shells out no problem and at a good rate but the shot size is no good for rabbit and fox
