Scully
If you have applied for those 3 calibres to appear on your ticket, then yes,you are allowed them. Do not specify lr(long rifle)on your application, nor indeed Magnum. Both are .22 rf (rimfire) and that is how they should appear on your ticket.Magnum is not a calibre,it is a cartridge designation;it just makes things simpler when buying ammo. A word to the wise;Ifirst bought a .22rf Magnum and while it is a great round with immense stopping power for a rimfire,it is noisy and you rarely get a second shot as everything has scarpered. So I bought a .22rf and used sub-sonic ammo, not as much range but very quiet. Before I could sell my magnum along came the .17 and rendered my magnum more or less obsolete!Nobody wants them,or if they do its at a knock down price. Hope this helps.

CharlieT
You will only be allowed to purchase what is listed on your fac when it comes. What will be listed on your FAC will be what you applied for on your application form. When your FEO came to visit you what was on the form when he left after your interview. If you are not sure I suggest you phone him and ask.

Scully
Have you infact applied for all 3 of those;if you have then it sounds as if your FEO has ok'd them. Perhaps I could give some advice? .22 lr and .22 Magnum are both rf (rimfire)and that is how they should appear on your ticket.Magnum is not a calibre,it is a cartridge designation in the same way that .38 S&W and .357 Magnum are both still .38 calibre. So don't specify .22lr or .22Mag on your ticket;it just makes things simpler when buying ammo. By all means aquire all three if that's what you want, but I initially bought a .22 in Magnum a lot of years ago,and although the stopping power is awesome for a rimfire,it is also very noisy, and you rarely get a second shot as everything has scarpered! So I bought another .22rf and with sub-sonic ammo and a moderator got on great,so much so I decided to sell my Mag',but before I could ,along came the .17 which rendered my Mag' just about obsolete!I could still sell it,but at a very knocked down price;everybody wants a .17. Hope this helps.
CharlieT
He may have told you that meaning that those were the range of calibers he was prepared to grant as you are a new applicant to fac. However unless those 3 calibers were written on your application form when he left they may not appear on your fac when it comes.

Vince Green
A few years back you could have got a variation that would have said something like "ONE rifle in .22RF/ .22RF Mag or.17HMR". Then when you made your choice you would just tell them what you had bought. All that seems to have gone out of the window now but its a shame because there is no reason why they can't still do it. I wonder if it was because people stopped asking for it that way. I know of people (years ago) who would put in for a variation for things like "one rifle in 7.62, .303 or .30-06" and then just wait to see what turned up on the secondhand market in good condition that caught their eye. Maybe we should start doing it again. It used to happen a lot with pistols where people would have slots saying things like "ONE C/F pistol up to cal .455". It didn't make any difference, it was like having an open slot for whatever calibre pistol you chose to buy. But you could only buy one and the calibre ultimately didn't make any odds to them. Scully
A friend recently applied for a variation(Cumbria Constabulary)but couldn't decide between .243.308 so put both down.He received a call from licensing to ask him which one he wanted. He tried to explain he was going to the CLA so wanted to keep his options open as regards what may be available. They weren't interested and told him he would have to choose there and then over the phone or re-apply when he'd decided.Unreasonable? I think so.They reasoned if they varied his ticket for them he could come back with both.Either or didn't satisfy them either.Untrusting lot aren't they?
