rjimmer Posted December 24, 2005 Report Share Posted December 24, 2005 The capsules from Coopers used to be good and the evidence was there to be seem after a few minutes. A lot of wormers claim to make the worms break up, but the Coopers capsules would result in a large ball of worms on the floor soon after treatment. A cheap alternative: Get some crushed barley, porridge oats might work, and put a spoonfull of Marmite(or was it Bovril?) on top of a bowlfull. Pour on hot milk that will disolve the Marmite or Bovril and feed that to your hungry dog. If it has worms, it will be hungry. The next day there will be round worms(if it is infested) all over the floor. Not sure if it works with tapeworms. I discovered this method by accident when I ran short of meal once. I have also noticed that, when plums are in season, fox droppings contain lots of plum stones and lots of worms at the same time. I concluded that the high-roughage laxative affect of the plums might be nature's way of worming foxes and thought of the way the crushed barley had once worked for my dogs. The upshot of that was that Countrywide in Witney only had a trained person on during the week so couldn't buy any at the weekend. When we did get in mid week the involvement of the 'trained person' was to bring the box from the stockroom (which was clearly situated about 20 miles away from the length of time it took to turn up) & dump it down on the counter for the young girl to run through the till. I have always had excellent service, have never been sold anything that wasn't necessary and from what I have read on this forum is excellent value for money as I have never been charged anything like what you guys pay.
