covlocks
Prefer the Rumtopft - has a much more warming effect than a Cherry Tart
Beardo
Cherry Vodka... 400g cherries 200g caster sugar 70cl bottle vodka Slit the cherries, but don't cut them in half. Put in a pan with the sugar and 150ml water, then heat, stirring gently, until the juices run and the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat, then spoon into a kilner jar. Add the vodka and mix well. Seal, then leave for 4 weeks before drinking (giving it a gentle shake every couple of days). Here's mine (ready in a week or so)
Beardo
just decanted my Cherry Vodka and it tastes amazing - plus the cherries are fantastic. i think i'll have to destone them and cover them in chocolate to make some rather adult sweets. John_R
That reminds me of one of the older, long dead generation of the Italian-American side of my family. He used to somehow obtain alcohol from a hospital and pickle cherries in it. Apparently eating one or two was enough to do the trick...
