Ferreting favourites

I,ve used both over many years, with equal success.

 

I preferred to work small jills for rabbits and rats.

My experience was that they were faster and more diligent workers than hobs.

I always had one or two large polecat type hobs, for breeding purposes.

On ocassions ,I have used them to flush foxes out of land drains.

I never used them as a "liner", I preferred the ferret locator collar.

I prefer cream ferrets as i do a lot of ferreting with hawks and have found they are less likely to take a cream ferret as they are a totally different couler to rabbits so the hawk dose not confuse the ferret for a rabbit as sometimes happens with polecats.    :sick:  :sick:
