pavman
Being from Essex and living on the Norfolk/Suffolk boarder I have no discernable accent and I speak to a lot of folk during my working day and the regional and geographical variance is at times either a pleasure or a challenge, the young lady from southern Ireland makes you feel like your getting a rub down with a Honey smeared moleskin mitten whilst the twining Scouser who bends my ear with his ling a long “ He Dan, De Do Dat Dont Dae Do” lingo makes me want to find an excuse to cut the call short.......... Germans always sound harsh no matter what! Is it just me
mick miller
Actually I find the estuary Essex mockney twang more than a little irritating, I liken it to listening to a cat chewing an elastic band. German I don't mind at all, but then I'll admit I'm biased. Pure Geordie is a whole different language of its own and, to me, utterly indecipherable. Breastman
A few accents grate on me but people (normally southern female student types) who put an upward inflection on EVERY SENTENCE so that it sounds like they're asking a question get right on my jubblies! ziplex
Bristolian accent is embarrasing, I can't stand it! I put a message on my phone once, listened to it then thought better of it and reset it to the factory greeting

Mark More, like irritating than that like is the persistent like use of the work 'like' like in ANY accent. It's, like, right up there with like basically & the mis-use basically of the word 'basically', like, used as an introduction basically, to any statement, be it like basic or like complex, basically. Know what I mean?

shot shot
I'll be perfectly honest with you all, over on the mainland, it's 50/50 as to whether you can put up with an accent, or want to shove cocktail sticks in your ears

vole
I really hate that new inner city accent that has crept into this country in the last 10 years. It is like African English but has been adopted by whites too. Tinchy Stryder, Ali G and so called wiggers use it. Wikipedia call it Jafraican . Consists of dropped H s and sounds like you are talking through sewn up lips. I probably am a bit vague but you oldies will have noticed this stupid accent emerging. It is beyond sad, dya'getme? Why anyone would want to sound like a total moron is beyond me, unless of course I'm ignoring the glaringly obvious fact that they are total morons?
