ted m
Does anybody know if taking the bipod off a rifle would affect the zeroing? The rifle is a Sako 243 and a Harris bipod. Any help much appreciated.

Graham M
Depends. If you are talking about shooting off the bipod and then shooting the rifle after taking the bipod off, then the answer is yes it can alter your POI. Some rifles aren’t affected, but some are …….just have to shoot the rifle and see where the POI is before and after. G.M.
ted m
Thanks Graham. Tried the rifle with and without the bipod, couldn't notice any difference. I bought the rifle earlier in the year and my wife has treated me to a Zeiss 6x24x72 scope. Only had it two months, absolutely the dog's do das!!! Graham M
6x24x72………jeeze, where did you find a set of mounts for that. I bet you have to stand on a ladder to get your head up high enough to see through it. G.M.

jamie g
most rifles that are afected by this are ones with flexy stocks. the sako stock is pretty soild so you shouldnt have problems with it. i have the zeiss 6x24x56 and that is big enough for me. you must have it in extra high mounts to clear the barrel. saying that i bet your using optiloc rings as you have a sako you can get away with high rings i bet as the bases give you a good bit of hight off the barrel anyway. optics are superb on the zeiss and unreal under the lamp
ted m
Yes, the mounts had to be made specially. Sportsman in Dorset got them for me they cost a fair bit! But its not too high for me and I seem to shoot pretty good with it. Thanks for your comments
