proTOM1 Posted December 31, 2010 Report Share Posted December 31, 2010 Headed out this morning to 1 of my farms to shoot the rape he told me was getting battered ,arrived at 8am and the gate was locked so sat there till 9 am then rang him he came opened the gate and said there was loads on it yesterday . Drove to the field and the fog was just starting to clear a bit and yes not abird in sight . Decided to setup anyway ,put out 20 shell decoys in no kind of pattern and set the wirly up to the front right of them . Not abird flying and no wind plus fog drifting in and out . After 30 mins was ready to pack up then a bird came in and i missed it both barrels ,then another 5 mins later he dropped first shot then nothing again for 20 mins . Then the fog came thick and then cleared and birds started to drop to the decoys every 5 mins ,only problem now is they were coming in in gangs of over 100 birds at a time with 1 gang of over 200 birds dropping in ,this carried on till 11.30 then the fog came back so i called it a day as im out agin tomorrow and hoping for no fog .
