Maltese Falcon
For a start Happy New Year to all. Now to the topic. My Daihatsu Terios is making a bang/popping noise and can't find were it is coming from. It only happens if i take my foot of the trottle sharply esspecialy in the lower gears. I know that the nearside cv joint is gone as it clicks when i turn in a thight circle and needs doing but someone told me that the popping noise could be the inner cv joint, but i can't feel any movement and the car drives really well in top gear at any speed with no vibration or any other problems so i am thinking that the driveshaft must be ok. Please note that i am clueless were else to look and would like to be pointed in the right dierction. Also note that this popping noise has been going for the past three months and can't say that it got worse. Please help. Regards George. maltese Falcon. Fisherman Mike
Have you narrowed it down to engine noise or other source ?

Maltese Falcon
Definately not engine noise, i am thinking it could be the prop shaft but i can't see anything obvious when i had it on a ramp. regards maltese falcon
