tinytim38
Hi a friend of mine has a Toyota RAV 4 Diesel 04 plate, which suddenly looses power at high speed, this only last a couple of seconds then returns to normal, anyone know for sure what causes this? cheers Tim
Sprackles
Sounds like a fuel starvation problem...small airlock.
tinytim38
thanks for that one, was wondering if the EGR valve was sticking, all filters have been changed recently and searching the web seems to be a common fault most pointing the EGR but not all, glad I have a Landy
berties
My Toyota was notorious for loss of power for a while and the dealer got it down to what measures the air temp,to get the fuel injected correctly was dirted even with the error code said it could of been a number of complaints, sorry about the lay mans terms but that's how they explained it to me and the warranty Company paid the bill, but on this occasion it was the air temp reader, bullet proof motors though

ROBLATCH
if its a td it could well be the actuator valve sticking on the turbo or the turbo slides themselves sticking.
al4x
my brother had one that did it, got worse till it used to drop into limp mode toyota reckoned a new turbo would sort it. So he sold it
