I think it is too small to be a kestrel, and actually looking at the breast of the Buzzard does look like it could be one :yp:

 

It's a tough decision, maybe we should ask Konings if he sees Buzzards/Sparrowhawks around the premises regularly ;)

Not a lot... Twitchers tend to be obsessive dropping everything at a moments notice to seek out a rare sighting.

 

Thankfully ive grown out of it now but Ive had a few expensive trips around the country. :P:D

Hi,

 

I can't find my European bird book and I will have a look later. I have just looked at some pictures of the view of birds of prey when they are flying and it looks very much like a Buzzard by the pattern of it's plumage. Note the characteristic lighter patch of plumage under it's beak. ;)
