Evening Chaps...

In light of a few of the more serious topics on the forum at the moment I thought I'd give you all a chuckle at my expense...

I went out tonight to keep on top of the rabbit populous as we are about to bash on ploughing and drilling crops once this weather breaks....I headed out through the farm yard and through into one of our grass fields steadily walking uphill.

I swept the hill with my red filtered lamp, notice a couple of bunnies so switched off and slowly crept closer...

During this period I heard a helicopter and saw some lights a little distance away (we are sometimes on a flightpath for military choppers going up towards the ranges)

I thought nothing off it as it was way off in the distance and at a decent altitude (also about 5 o clock direction wise behind me) so I dropped to a prone position..flicked on the lamp and gave a bunny the good news....no sooner had I flicked off the lamp and stood when the helicopter did an about turn, came back to my location and hovered about me at about 40 feet high!!!!

I kid you not I about filled my undercrackers!!!!!!

Don't you hate these show offs with all the kit? First it was night vision, now it's bloody helicopters!

:D

Anyone know how not to soil yourself when creeping up to a bunny and a pheasant takes off from a tree 5 metres away?!?!

:hmm:

make sure you "go" before you go? i have a similar problem on one of my perms, they roost in the trees and as soon as the lamp goes on that's it.
