I was told not too use shavings as it can cause problems with the ferrets health, would be alot easier to use shavings to be honest.

Shavings "may" only cause concern if you ferrets are very young kits (same as you don't use shavings on new born chicks), Once they are up abit its fine to use shavings on the floor.

now thats a good full set of freezers. :good:

i agree with shavings but stay clear of the sawdust it will end up making there really ill. straw is a waste of time , and for food dry cat food or fresh rabbit . mine like just shot woodies as well .

can i ask how old they are mate? as once they hit season there is no way ur wife will let them in the house as they stink lol

  • 3 weeks later...

used to use cat litter to soak up the pee but the conventional stuff needs replacing constantly so ive switched to the wood pellet type cat litter and it works much better, also use wood shavings and straw for there bedding :good::good::good: i use alpha ferret food in the summer 10kg £20 ebay and less fly problems, and switch to fresh rabbit or chicken in the winter
