Malc
I picked up a rather ropey Breda semi auto today for £30. Anyone know anything about these shotguns? Are they any good?
dunganick
i suspect you might be in the best position to answer this. Get out there and give it a go.
Lord Geordie
I think the price says it all. I checked Guntrader and there are 2 there one for £80 and the other is only £175 If prices are anything to go by then they aren't up to much All you can do is give it a try LG Edited March 27, 2006 by Lord Geordie

Dave66
My dad bought me a Breda 20 Bore semi auto when I was 13,( Back in 79 ) brilliant gun for a 13 yr old, the barrel was externally threaded for the screw on multi chokes guns are like girlfriends/wifes. You always get rid of the best ones, then realise you should have kept hold of it/them

Breda have a very good reputation in military arms production. As you can see from the link that Mikky has provided, Breda's are not cheap shotguns to purchase new, unlike Hatsan's. When purchasing new you always get what you paid for and quality is commensurate to price. I hope that you have got yourself a bargain. For that price it must be worth giving it a little TLC and getting it in good order. Good luck with it Malc.
Lord Geordie
I didn't say catagorically that they were **** :( I said if the prices i had FOUND were anything to go by then the 2 i found weren't up to much  so there And was your remark a dig at us Hatsan Owners  LG Edited March 29, 2006 by Lord Geordie
webber
The Breda website is very interesting, but the technical detail does not state if the barell is hard chrome plated or not? Some of the guns look really good. webber
Malc
Thanks for the replies. I took the gun out for a test and all seems fine. I just need to work out how to strip it for cleaning now!
MC
If it works fine then leave it alone, It probably comes apart like most semi's. Unscrew the big nut on the forend and slide the barrel out. But for £30 an dif you are using it regularly I wouldn't bother. Cheers MC
darren m
only ever came across one model of breda and that waas called a "Duck ****** " strangely enough , so would presume it may be a good fowling tool .
Malc
I've discovered that it is a Breda 710 Magnum. It has an external thread at the muzzle end to which a choke tube screws on. I'd still like to know how to strip it if anyone could help. I really have no idea.
