DaveH
I was using the pattern plate at my local skeet club yesterday and the club secretary was complaining that nobody sells whitewash any more. Naturally muggins volunteered to track some down . I stopped off at B&Q on the way home but got the response "we haven't sold it for years". Anybody got a source or suggestions for an alternative please? I'd also like to rig a frame for paper pattern sheets so if anybody knows of a good source for large sheets of paper/card? Cheers Dave
BlaserF3
A cheap emulsion paint works instead of Whitewash, paper is expensive now but oddments from a wall paper shop can be stuck together to get the width.
Beardo
wallpaper lining paper is good to use, just tape two sheets together to get the width - it's dirt cheap

GDBO
so what do they use nowadays for white lining cricket/football pitches? or am I showing my age  When I was still involved in my local cricket club a few years ago we always used watered down white emulsion. Seem to remember about 50/50 for the boundary and stronger for the wicket.
apache
'Whitewash' is just hydrated lime mixed with water. What we used to paint stables with. You can get lime an any builders merchant or agricultural supplies place.

Greenhunter
You could try getting hold of some newsprinting paper from a printing works. They sometimes have roll-ends. It is possible to get A1 size paper, again newsprint, which wouldn't be a mile out of the right size for what you want. Years ago one of my colleagues could get roll-ends of photographic paper which were huge! Never did know exactly where he got them from So any printing works near you? Just a thought.
