rsrjerry
Now sure it wont be in the husky or stihl class but for £79.99 and a 3 year warrenty cant go wrong for using around shoot , cutting up logs etc see link below http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/offers_week34Thursday11.htm?WT.z_src=main Edited August 20, 2011 by rsrjerry
Gordon R
Bought one a couple of years ago. Only used it a couple of times, but nice and reliable. If I wasn't getting rid of mine, due to lack of use, I would be tempted to buy another.
DSPUK
I see they have same Tarp sheets that Lidl had except in blue and £2 cheaper Dave
Pushkin
Can anyone give some more in depth feedback on what they are like as I am in the market just now for a chainsaw but do not want to pay for a stihl etc Pushkin B)
airgunalex
Is this the "DRAPER EXPERT 46CC" the photos look similar but there is no other clues in the description. If it is then the saw is worth about £160 normally??? the other hedge trimmer also looks surprisingly similar to the DRAPER EXPERT ones online Edited August 20, 2011 by airgunalex
Tam
No way  just bought a Stihl for £140 this would have done the job might try for the hedge trimmer though
Ratman2
Best left on the shelves chaps, honest. It looks like a Draper cos it's most likely been a bulk order rejected by Draper on quality issues, the three year warrenty will not be worth the paper it's written on, there will be no spares back up. Just look at the write up. Fuel capacity 550ml, cutting speed 16m/s, cutting length 43cm Chain brake/handguard Safety trigger Automatic chain lubrication Centrifugal clutch ALL chainsaws have these features
ziplex
We're all keen to save a bit here and there but with a chainsaw it 'aint worth it, buy a Stihl/Husq and forget about reliability/spares issues. My BIL has a Draper chainsaw and it really is very poor compared to my Stihl eq't, great saws
DSPUK
keep the receipt if you buy one - Lidl are very good with replacements - I had a Parkside 3.6v screwdriver - had it two years and packed in - was mint hardly used - just had a replacement through post - got another brand name on it but it's identical barring colour. Dave ps as this is Aldi not lidl Oppppps ! They probably have same replacement system. - Must take my pills on time. gixer1
I have a husky but also a mcculloch (which is a cheap saw) the husky is 2 years old and has had the chain brake removed, the mcculloch is 9 years old and the oil pump only gave out 2 years ago so go figure! Both are used and abused but if you are only cutting now and again I'd say it's worth a punt these are not for felling 150 year old oaks, they are for the odd 6" trunk and a few logs 2/3 times a year.... Catweazle
I love the picture - the user is holding it in the wrong hand, if it kicks back it'll take his head off.
debaser
I bought the petrol hedge trimmer last time they done it. To be fair, it's worked fine, does what it's supposed to do. I don't think it would last if you used it everyday, but for occasional use it works fine. ATB
ack-ack
Its got a three year guarantee. You bend it, they mend it! I'd be tempted to buy one just for cutting up pallets. What's not to like?
Photoguy2910
I'm looking for one just now too, can't really justify a lot of money on one for what I need it for... could save even more and just use a bow saw...

Regards, Gixer My McCulloch is coming up for 12 years old now. Gets used at the shoot, mates woods, back garden, logging etc etc. Had one new bar and chain in that time.(it will probably break tomorrow now I've said that) What you have to remember is that all chain saws want to eat you, regardless of how much you pay for them. So always wear the appropriate PPE.

Tam
Looked at the petrol hedge cutter today & it had a fair gap between the blades :hmm: not sure if they should be like that or not :look: on my electric one the blades slide together
