Is it worth paying the extra for the kick off system purely for use on clays? Do they really suffer from reciever buzz? Hamster Posted August 25, 2011 Report Share Posted August 25, 2011 I had two shots with a mates A400 that has a Kick-off fitted, despite being a light gun the recoil was reasonable. It is in fact clays where a reducer device pays dividends as you shoot large numbers of shots in quick succession. retromlc Posted August 25, 2011 Report Share Posted August 25, 2011 (edited) i had an A400 kick off and a non kick off at the same time (long story)i felt the kick off upset the balance and unless you want to fire heavy carts 36grms upwards all day at a clay ground i doubt it's needed,i fired 200 28grms through mine in about 2 hours at a clay ground and it was not an issue.remember an A400 has a dampner for the bolt to hit too and it's recoil is very light due to it regulating the amount of gas to recycle.i would think a kick off would be better on a O/U.my A400 does make a zing sound when fired,i put a small amount of engine oil on cart tube where the spring goes over at first to get rid of the sensation,i don't bother now as i don't notice it. guinty1 Posted August 25, 2011 Report Share Posted August 25, 2011 I bought an A400 light without the kick off and i use it to shoot skeet. I really like the gun and have no problems with recoil.I shot a browning B425 before this gun and i felt it on my shoulder after a 100 birds but I have no such problems with this gun. mickmep Posted August 27, 2011 Report Share Posted August 27, 2011 have an xplor with the kickoff and an xcel without. if your shooting clay loads you wont need the kickoff. was in 2 minds about the kickoff on the xcel but glad i went for one withiout.
