Hi all

Just got a 1998 swb terrano 2.7 with 178000 miles on the clock for bad weather and shooting/green laneing.

just been checked over and new filters and oil changed done 360mile so far.

Has any one got one and how do you rate them on running costs and is ebay the best way of getting parts and keeping running costs down.

Hi Shaun

like wise some how i just love it it seems to be a true little 4x4 i nearly got a freelander van after driving 60 mile to see a so called solid example only to look under its belly to find the rear prop missing.well pleased with my £1000 ruff and ready truck as im sure after a few weeks it will look like my shed inside. :good:

its a brilliant vehicle, i have had the 2.7 and the later 3.0 in swb and lwb, loved them and was gutted that they stopped making them.

running costs are good, the swindon Nissan dealer will service them from £110, speedo heads go and most mileages are wrong, but i dont suppose that has happened with yours as the miles look realistic.

check dealer prices against ebay, as the genuine parts are easier to fit and have proper warranties on.

the best one i had was a 2.7 swb van, absolutely loved it and wished i still had it...

Had a 2003 one for our works truck, got rid of it in July this year for a Defender. When it was going alright it was a good truck and pulled well but it used to cost us a fortune in suspension joints and propshafts/UJ's. It had done around 70k when it left and the synchros had failed on 3rd gear. Definately not a truck to be used in harsh conditions but for light off roading it would be fine I imagine.

Hi all thanks for posts

Been out and just been green laneing near swindon to of ridge way watching 2 roe deer

dont need to worry about scratching it un like my past 55 plate Jeep Grand. It was to nice to do any thing other that mud.

Hand brake cable drivers side is the only area to repair i have found.

Hi guess thats about right 300miles from full and £60 to fill back to the same point.

dont think it will do more than 3.5k per year so i will enjoy the moment. theres a 4x4 circuit at foxham near swindon

so will try that out as well as beating / shooting this winter.

I have got a 2006 3.0 Di SWB Commercial Terrano. I have had rear seats and seatbelts fitted so it's good all round.

I have had it a few years and it has been great for towing, shooting, snow, mud and carting stuff around.

It is also relatively good on fuel, fun to drive, it has air con and it will do 100 mph if you are that way inclined :look:

They are very good value when you compare them to the equivalent defender or discovery.
