huffhuff
Hi guys, Neighbour has locked her keys in the boot of her MGTF. I know there is a very guarded secret way in, but it is impossible to track down. There is also the 'treffen' method? But that requires me getting dirty and bruising my delicate arms. So, any MG nuts in here that know the quicker, secret way (and not the smashing the light method). I can get into the front. There is no boot release on the console. She has no spare key. She hasn't got a fob, but unlocks it with a key each time. Cheers
garyb
Save her the trouble of almost certain head gasket failure, by towing it to the local tip now.. She will thank you in the long run!

DSPUK
No spare key !!!!!!!!!!! -- I always have a key cut even if it doesn't start car it will unlock it - SWMBO locked our set of 2 in boot so just took out cut key to her and fine - We are OK with this car -if key fob is in car it won't lock. Have to agree on head gasket though. Dave
mad1
Have you not tryed a tennis ball method : Cut a small hole in a ball big enough to cover the key hole and then while you hold ball in place push it in as far and as fast as you can

Even if it did work, I don't think it would in this case. Cheers though

V8landy
Get a new key cut http://www.remotekey.co.uk/code-cutting/ and then for future fit this http://www.mgf-tf-central.co.uk/iainross/boot.html or as a bit quicker the treffan method http://forums.mg-rover.org/showpost.php?p=712657&postcount=16 Edited December 6, 2011 by V8landy

huffhuff
Think i'm going to have to get the spanners out. Go in via the engine bay and take off the boot hinges. The mad thing is, she can't even be certain the keys are in there now!!!
