That disco has been modified more than you would think, i reckon that has at least a 7 inch + lift, the shock mounts ETC would have been moved to allow for it, the wheel arches would need major mods and to fit a lift of that size would mean many many more mods that you can't see.

 

and at the end of the day what its driving in is nothing special or challenging.

 

 

5 inch lift, extended bump stops and then the shock turrets are the same as standard, wheel arches are simply cut to allow for the travel for the wheel

 

Thats it, wide angle prop and correct castor correction radius arms are the main bits you need to make any lifted landy work

I'll bet a decent of tyres covers the difference between Defender and Discovery off-road.

 

Here's a short video with both, plus the P38, not much to choose between them in the conditions you are likely to encounter on your shoot.

 

On road it's a whole different game, you can keep your Defenders ;)
