StuC
They have a 6000 mile service interval, which proves costly. You'll tend to find that the service history tails off after the warranty period expires. Have a good look through the service record of any potential purchase and make sure it is full of stamps. From memory the schedule is: 6k - Engine oil + filter , Diff oil and both axle oil 12k Engine oil + filter and gearbox oil. Then it follows the same pattern with air and fuel filters thrown in and tappet adjustment (every 24k IIRC) Solid vehicle though, built for purpose, not comfort and luxury! sishyplops
Love mine to bits its a 53 thunder with 104k on the clock still on its first exhaust, had new clutch at 80k, just going in for rear springs tomorrow, look on flea bay and you regularly see these or the mk one (same engine) with 170-190k on the clock, change air filter regularly and keep the oil changes up and it will see you out, especially if you only have 39k on the clock!! mpg is about 27ish i bough a S/H set of wheels for the later model with good Bridgestone tyres for 250 quid off flea bay what a bargain, most people but a spare set of steels for the winter or rough off road work as HT tyres are a bit girly, you wont regret it its a great truck and cheap as chips to maintain , pretty bullet proof as it is really a Mazda.
