elgreco
Ensure the suspension raises and lowers as it should I've been told Tom
Cosd
Really nice cars, I looked at these but just worked out too expensive to run for what I'd want it for! Sorry cant help! Post a picture of you get it.
Spiderdude
Very expensive to run, wears through tyres at a vast rate of knots. Parents had one, but got so expensive to run they sold it.
Schern
To check the airbags run it up to full height, turn it off, go away for a bit and when you come back it should still be at the same height. If it isn't then you've got a leak somewhere. I've always fancied one.
Chr15j
Hi, With regards to the AllRoad, look out for the M/Tronic gearbox if an auto - it MUST be serviced in accordance with Audi guidelines and be changed after about 91k I think with the proper Audi Oil. If not its prone to failure. Look out for gearbox 'flutter' also symptomatic on the older Volvo Autos. Yes they eat through tyres (whenever I have leased them out customers always take maintenance as they then dont need to worry). Airbags on suspension - as above ensure no leaks Full Service History (pref audi and specialist) a must Electrics typically ok Leather not prone to premature wear as good quality but check the drivers bolster on high mileage vehicles The diesel engine is pretty solid and good for over 250k if properly maintained If its a high miler and an auto be wary as the gearbox is not expected (this is from audi believe it or not) to last more than 60k before it needs surgery/replacement!!! Unless you need auto, def go for the manual if you want to minimise risk of expensive bills/ Also check tyre wear should be even, it not then it will need to go on a 4 wheel alignment machine - quite rare around independents/non dealer service centres in the UK (although quite a few F1 Autocentres seem to have them) and Audi charge a fortune for this. Hope this helps. All the best, PS if you want to lease a new car instead pm me and we can have a chat. Chris
storme37
any expensive vehicle that needs a gearbox at 60k isn't worth having get a reliable car or lease it so you can ditch it when it goes pop
Chr15j
Which is why more and more people are leasing
AnthonyR
Audi Allroad recently came last by some margin in a reliability survey of costs of breakdowns, the next worst was the Touereg
HDAV
I knew a guy who had one chopped it for a 330d and never looked back until it snowed! He drove the 330d like the Allroad (was a 2.7tdi and 330d was lots lots better on fuel).... but it didnt take bends at speed in the snow like the all road did :look:
