chappers83 Posted March 14, 2012 Report Share Posted March 14, 2012 Hi guys newbie here from newtownards and just thought id say hi, I have just sent my application for my fac there at start of week, thankfully i know few farmers that will sign me off for shooting on there land, was on a stag party day at place just 5minutes down the road from me called field of dreams where id held a shotgun for first time, great place and friendly guys running it, and seems iv gotten myself a new hobby, wasnt to bad at it either shot 23 out of 30 clays, mixture of skeet an dtl, would have been better if i wasnt trying to be cocky n get 2 for 1 on two occasions but still. Iv put a deposit down on a medalist 12g for £400, at least itll do me for my first shotgun so ill see how i get on with that and hopefully ill be shooting like a pro in no time. I know of hollow farm thats quite close 15min drive, but do any of you guys from this neck of the woods know of any other ranges that arent an hours drive from me. Lol Cheers speak to you all soon. chappers83 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Report Share Posted March 17, 2012 Well today was a waste of time, i was shooting with my nephews bettesoli, it had a automatic safety which i kept forgettin to switch of, so i kept missin the first clay, out of 75 i mayb shot 40, it was just dtl aswell, so very dissapointed. Cant wait to get my own gun. We were using eley olympics size 8, and 7.5 didnt think id be able to tell difference but the 8s pack a notable punch in comparison.
