-Mongrel-
Pcp = air arms 410 or hw 100 springer = air arms prosport or tx 200 For 200-250 pounds?
washerboy
would be tempted to find a HW95, newer ones are screw cut for the silencer, older ones have the muzzle break. brilliant guns, the worlds best trigger and can be tuned to be smoother the britney spears lady bits
secretagentmole
Another vote for an HW95, the wife has got one and it is a real peach, minimal recoil, 11.3 foot pound energy and in the dreaded .177 format as well, so what a .22 is like I do not know! washerboy
Down side is they can be over oiled,so take some zeroing.ive had two in both 177 &22,kepted the girly cal and had it venom tuned

Catweazle
For 200-250 pounds? You could find a used TX200 for that, it's a fine rifle.
garjo
Many thanks for advice - will now look around at alternatives - one of reasons for going donw Webley route was cos made in B'ham and wanted Brum springer - as I say thanks for advice. Uncle Albert
First question is what do you want to do with it, target, FT, HFT or hunting? once you have decided that you can look around.
washerboy
The early longbows are fine, wouldnt touch the turkey trot one
lineshooter
The early longbows are fine, wouldnt touch the turkey trot one I have the Tomahawk, it`s a B`ham model, the wife brought it new for me but it was rather "recoil happy" when shooting and it put me off it a bit. I have since had it tuned, could`nt really sell it on as it was a present and I must say it`s a joy to shoot. The Longow has a bit shorter barrell and I`m sure they tamed it a bit so it shot better,I personally have`nt shot one but they are supposed to be a good springer. washerboy
The tomahawk was an fac model tuned down to legal limit, shot one running at 18 ftlbs and she was lovely. pity webley didnt changes the parts, besides the spring. not brilliant at legal limit sadly
jgguinness
Hi mate. Depends on what sort of frame you are? Are you a sturdy chap, then I would recommend something like a HW80k, I have one and it's great, some say the best break barrel ever made. Many moons ago I started with a BSA Meteor, then an Airsporter. Always try and go for the best you can afford. I would think a pre-charged may be out of price range but I stand corrected. A TX200 is a good rifle, I always wanted one as a youngster but could never afford it. Kind regards Jonathan

washerboy
ummmm..nice guns but theoben are let down by bad triggers.i bought a fenman brand new 10 yrs ago £410 :look: .. its trigger wasnt worth £10. too expensive for what they are, also i know the lad who made the gasram system and he would sell you one for £
