Mixy Rabbits

i went out shooting this afternoon for just a walk round i shot 5 rabbits and two of them had mixy

Although we all call it mixy from what i have heard it is nothing like mixy that was first introduced way back when,i may be wrong and hopefully someone out there will know but is mixy the same disease now as it was then?

Shot 6 last night with the .22 they had mixy, im well ****** off now, will have to go there again and try and get a few more now

Its the same disease perhaps genetically modified through some hereditory immunity and less devastating to the bunny.

 

The original strain not just wiped out 90 % of the rabbit population during the 50,s & 60,s but the knock on effect on the Buzzard population was almost catastrophic with the bird disappearing from large areas of Britain.

Down where i live in south shropshire i havent seen mixy, even in small outbreaks, since two years ago. I must be in a good patch or just havent been looking hard enough.

i was out richards castle way 2 weeks ago and i saw a couple with mixy there
