gixer1
Dry clutch rattle, makes a duke individual ha . lovely bike by the way I have to admit - I hate the clutch rattle, keep on thinking its something terminal! I do like the induction roar as you open it up though... It's actually pretty slow by litre bike standards and my last K7 would have killed it only using 1st and 2nd gear... But the lazy twin riding style is coming back to me and it's less likely to bite me than the gixer....man I feel old! :( Regards, Gixer

gixer1
Nice I had one a year older, done the valve clearances yet ? Yup...not too bad to check but luckily all were within spec so didn't need any shims
Catweazle
It's actually pretty slow by litre bike standards and my last K7 would have killed it only using 1st and 2nd gear... It's surprising what they'll keep up with though, especially if you sort out the gearing. I run 2 teeth extra on the back and one off the front on my Mille and it goes very well. It's a different style of riding, but quite rewarding.

The dukes around 100, my last GSXR was around the 190 mark, I am thinking about dropping the gearing a bit and hopefully it'll keep up if it gets a wringing! Mmmm, Mille, that's one of the things on my current wish list. Sell the 929 and buy a Mille!

woodcock11
Thats it pretty much done... Great - I am a member of the AA [Automobile Association] and, if I break down, I will think that my subscription is well spent if you or any other patrol arrives on a smart bike like that to rescue me. I trust your uniform is of the same quality..... Please tell your bosses at AA if all patrols are as smart as you are that I will be happy with a 2.5% increase in my subscription for 2013/14 - fair enough? All my bikes are twins - and all but one is Daytona yellow! Not sure if I approve of the rear suspension and indicators etc though. If it doesn't help it stop or go, throw it away! Nial
Thats it pretty much done... Very nice, but can you get that bike out of the way so we can see the lawn properly? BTW, you could cut it a bit shorter round the tree in the corner. Nial.

Not really - here is the bike with a sidecar and as smart as the Ducati http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/aa-heritage-vehicles/bsa-m20-and-m21.html You could make a fortune at the moment if you carried a few "jerrycans" of petrol or diesel!
