This must be an age thing Henry,

I make my own jam from my raspberries.Match wieght of fruit to granulated sugar, simmer fruit (mash it up in the pan) for 5 mins add sugar and dissolve.

Bring it all to the boil and stir briskly for 5-7 mins or untill setting point is reached.

take pan off of heat and add 1/2 oz of butter.

This will help draw off scum from the top.

pot and cover.

I use grease proof paper cut to the size of the top of the jar.

once it has cooled screw lid on jar and plce in the fridge untill used.

It taste fantastic.

 

I'm a bit sad I have a kitchen garden,

I get a sence of enomouse well being knowing I can grow all of the veg and either catch the fish or shoot the meat to provide a totally organic meal for our table.
