anser2
We all have our favoured game shells but in reality there is very little to chouse between the major game shells. 1 1\8 oz load of no 6 will deal with any gamebird.

al4x
Just cartridges Extreme game 32g 6's are a very good game cartridge, work well for me used them on a vermin day on saturday to clock up a fox, carion crow, rook and a load of other various during the game season they accounted for more than a few pheasants. Anyone suggesting 4's is either on an extremely high bird shoot or off their rocker

Tim Kelly
Used RC professional 30g 6 most of the season through my side by side. Hard hitting and soft on the shoulder. Very impressed. If I were using a heavier gun black gold 32g 5 take some beating.

aga man
suprised no one has mentioned gamebore super game [green cases}, very consistent and reliable IMO 32 gms of 5 or 6. agree with anser2 though, they probably all do the same job. if your happy with a particular shell its usually best to stick with it. Alycidon
Eley High Pheasant, 30gr 5s. These are basically standard Grand Prix 5s in a slightly higher brass case. I found VIPs to be punchy on the shoulder when I tried them some 10 or more years ago, in a SBS they were unusable. Still got a few somewhere. Black Gold are OK, Hull High Pheasant are my old favorite but they priced themselves out last time I bought some, all 30gr 5 shot and felt or bio degradeable wad. Shot a few SIPs some time ago, they were fine also, think they were 6s but the range on the peg I was on was not far. We shoot some pretty testing pheasants, 30gr is enough as is 28gr when in the right place, 48gr up its backside wont stop it !!. If I use my SBS light weight game gun I will use Eley Impax 6s, the gun loves them. A

Impax ( 10 year old red plastic cases) are my first choice in my SBSs, have killed birds cleanly a long way out. Very sweet shooting cartridge.
