Magwitch
Had one in the garden the other day, I know that in areas around London they are very common.
bakerboy
I thought they were also common in the orchards of Kent. In West London there are flocks of thousands, in Richmond Park they are every where. They have worked their way out to North London now and I have seen them in Hatfield and heard, but not seen them in Hitchin. They are on the move, feel sorry for the Woodpeckers. Drayman
They've had a long time to spread - apparently there was a colony on the East coast in the 1880's (or perhaps earlier).
