Asa Bear
I have a problem with my 2007 Audi A4 S line 170. I have had it since September 2011. It was sold with 12 months warranty with car care plan. On Thursday night it wouldn't start for my wife. The RAC attended and got it started. Their diagnostics said it was the crank sensor fault. It started first time Friday morning when my wife drove it to an independent VAG garage for repair. Their diagnostics also said crank sensor fault so we left it with them for a replacement to be fitted. Friday at 5 o'clock the VAG garage rang to tell me the crank sensor had been replaced but now the car wouldn't start at all. The technician said the nuts on the gear box had worked loose. He suspected the clutch & fly wheel had been replaced at some time and the gear box not lined up properly with the crank sensor. Lloyds TSB who sold it to me say no work other than servicing was carried out and emailed me a copy of the vehicles history. The VAG garage said they can't do any more work until they have cleared it with the warranty company on Monday. Where do I stand?
Mattw
regardless of whatever is wrong, its under warranty and I would read the warranty terms very closely. Then argue for all your worth if you need to! I would also google the hell out of it to find if others have had the same issues.... good luck
Asa Bear
Lloyds TSB, to their credit, covered the cost of all repairs. However a week later and there is a problem with the turbo! I am awaiting a call from Chief Honcho tomorrow to see where we go from here. It is covered under the warranty but I am rapidly losing confidence in the car. :(
