ESS - training

This is my 16 month old ESS, that I have been trianing.

We went out the other day for some more trianing for retreiving from a pigeon hide, which went very well. The last four birds he went out , picked up without fussing and brought them back through the hide entrance and dropped them at my feet. He is beginning to show some good form at the moment marking the birds down and going straight to them. He didn't bother with the decoys or the rotary, nor did he run out with the gun shots.

Is there anything else that the dog would need for pigeon shooting - other than the usual witty remarks of gun fit, swing through etc

Thank you

Hi sound good your ess is going out to blinds they are hard to do, but try not to let him drop them at your feet if you are going to eat them he may I say may damage the brids. I have 2 ess that I use for shooting/beating and trailing best of look he looks a bonny dog from his pic
