In order of bad to truely awful...

Honda CRV, Ford Mondeo 2l Zetec, old ford fiesta automatic - sounded just like it was running on rubber bands, Landrover TD5, old Mini - I'd ban every one of them off the road if I was PM.

Best

Peugeot 405SRI, Audi A3, Mk3 VW Golf, Audi A4

fingers crossed no major problems with my altea, boot lock was stuck and then rear wash pump went.

all covered by warrenty.

50-65 mph depending on how i drive it, could do with a bigger engine then its 1.6 td

An ARO RANGER, Rumania's answer to the Landrover. It's the only vehicle i have driven that came with a starting handle and i had to use it,and the body work was the only thing that stopped the wheels turning too far.I hasten to add it was brand new and really looked the part, chunky , powder blue, soft top, lovely khaki canvas back, but it was a brand new death trap. I drove it through one of the worse winters Saddleworth could throw at you and i still don't know how i lived to tell the tale.30,000 miles of terror. Oh and the breaks failed twice.I only kept it for 5 months, a terrifying experiance. After i bought it someone told me that they had been stored in fields for years.. from Auntie.

In 2005 i collected a brand new Honda Accord that needed a littkle bit of repair, it was a top of the range diesel. I drove it 15 miles back and i can honestly say it was the most boring soul less car that i have ever had the pleasure to drive. There was probably nothing wrong with it but it was so plastic and purely functional that it was truly awful.

Up until a few months ago it was a Lancia Delta - would understeer and then oversteer in the same corner. Horrible car

Now its the Lexus CT200e. Fantastic in town with the electric motor but try accelerating with the 1.8 petrol and its like riding a 50cc scooter - revs really high but doesnt go. Very well finished but for 30K I couldnt live with the engine (even if it came with Kylie as standard. Luckily we had a good test drive before considering buying one.

In the past: Triumph Acclaim (English for Sieg Heil, funnily enough) or Dolomite, can't remeber which, just as happy going sideways as ahead. Also Austin/Morris Cambridge/Oxford, ghasty things; I did actually write one off or, rather, it wrote itself off with my assistance.

Recent: Skoda Something-or-other (Octavia?), had it for two days as a courtesy car (parked it two street away in case anybody saw it in my drive), plastic & tin, cheap, cheap, cheap!

I had one of them as a company car in 2005!

I was once given a pool car at work whilst mine was in the shop... a Citroen BX, diesel, no turbo - the lack of power was not it's only failing, what a pig of a car it was. So numb that you'd no idea what the car was doing, until after it had done it.

Most unreliable, Ford Escort circa 1989, delivered brand new with about 14 miles on the clock... it spent more time in the shop than on the road, bits just kept falling off - most notably the heater/fan assembly that dropped on my feet whilst I was bezzing down the motorway. The dealer went through 4 replacement gearboxes trying to find one that worked for more than a few thousand miles. A lemon if there ever was one.

By far the worst cars I have ever driven are as follows, Mini Metro, Renault 5, and Fiat 126. Though I do have slightly fond memories of the latter as it was the first car I ever drove solo after passing my test.

That is un-canny...snap...

I had a Simca 1100gls when i was 17 (you prob have to google it)truly awful..what a pile of tripe....

Ford Ka..gash.....

numerous other cheap cars....Im on car number 54 now....

Best was sapphire 4x4 cosworth and nissan 200sx turbo...

bog all use when the speed limits 70 though ;)

other than supplying the NHS with a regular supply of organ donors

Ooh my sides, never heard that one before. :hmmm:

Ok, 0-60 in 2 seconds and pin sharp handling, not to mention that you feel the journey so much more due to smelling and feeling things you just won't get in your tin box.

Go and ride a decent bike, you'll either **** your pants ...or get it.

Cars move the body, bikes move the soul!

fiat seicento - utter bag of ****, i dont know how it was even legal to sell the bloody things. had it for a couple of days.

similar feeling from the fiat bravo, daeoo matiz.

not forgetting the awfull chrysler PT cruiser, rubbish build, handling, in fact - everthing.

best - saab 93 aero HOT - nuts, drank like a fish, but very nice 'go kart' like ride.

merc c63amg - even more nuts than the saab, but very nice indeed.

Fiat 600T van, circa 1970's, fiat 600 lump in a mini VW-style van body - total 'rubbish' (Sorry for previously typed ephithet, mods  ) ! Then to top it all off, I followed it (as we had our 2nd child on the way and it was cheap!) Talbot Horizon  , cost more in repairs than the HP!! I banged my head then and got better...

The worst for me was a truly horrific air-cooled T25 camper... incredibly slow & unreliable.

Thank heavens for the AA. a double-whammy because being towed home by the AA usually meant you got home quicker than the wretched thing could manage under its own power

I've driven many cars.

Worst has to be the Audi A4 estate.

Best......and this might surprise you.............

My current car.....an Alfa Romeo GT.

Loads of power, no rattles and seriously good looking.

Got to agree though had a Mito as a curtesy car while mine was having a service (no it hadn't broken down) and yes it was aweful.

Steve

Mmmm GT is lovely, yours the 1.9?

Worst is a top up between an Astra 1.6 courtesy car and most disappointing was the golf estate......

Vwg definatley aren't "all that"
