The K80 and Blasers for that matter are fine guns as are Perazzi and DT10/11 but you can fit new barrels to anything, if you need a new set of barrels badly but are not prepared to wait one hour for a gunsmith to get it fitted ???:hmm: then I suppose the K80/Blaser make a lot of sense!

Thanks to all for your fantastic replys.

Seems the Kreighoff v Perazzi is a even match just personal preference

All the guns have there fair share of use so deff want something that will stand up to fair use.

I am a tart and love a good looking gun so as much as they shouldnt be a decider looks deff are.

Never seen a Browning Prestige before but deff looks tarty and on the money too, will have a read up on reviews

I like light and balanced so of that lot I'd go Perazzi, but there's no value for money there.

When it was time for me to buy my 'special' gun I picked up every gun in the shop and settled on one particular Blaser F3.

I've picked up lots of other people's F3s and not one has compared to mine. So interesting was this phenomena we took my F3 apart and weighed the component parts and the adjustable weights in it.

The moral of the story is each gun is slightly different and there will be one that you will find amazing. Don't get fixed on buying a particular brand or model, try them all.

That's the good thing also about the k80 barrels are readily available and fit straight on very handy indeed.......

i handled a browning Heritage last week, felt good and was spankingly pretty too! i like my Ultra XS.I was getting out of my car the other day at greenfields and the wood was commented on as I assembled it,always makes you feel good

Yes but then again, you drive a BMW 1 series and had a Fiat Multipla before that so you are in no position to comment on taste!

Looked at the DT11 and the zoli z sport and tried a demo of the zoli shot with it better than my benelli and SP1, but not as well as I did with the escort, both guns were the first time I shot them on the skeet layout.

Thought should I treat myself to the zoli after a long thought decided to expensive for some thing that goes bang and at that price would want to make sure it really fitted me. Instead sold my other guns and ordered a A400 xcel to keep the escort company.

A400 is a great gun

I don't recall too many Kreighoffs in the medals at the Olympics. They all seemed to be using Perazzis.

Krieghoff seem to be supporting several of the younger American shooters. I expect there will be plenty of them on the podium soon.

I've shot all of the guns in the OP (haven't owned them though) and have to say that the Krieghoff was by far the nicest to shoot. Looks-wise it's not everybody's cup of tea, but they do have a certain je ne sais quoi.

You don't have to go to Italy to get a custom made Perazzi....more like East Sussex: http://www.highclays.com/ I was also in the market for a bit of serious indulgence and tried several circa £10k guns - not all guns, even Perazzis are created equally and some can be improved still further and that seems to be the case here.

I never understood what perfect balance meant in shotgun terms - and the effect it has on your shooting performance until I tried an HPX. I approached the evaluation with a hugely cynical head - my 30" UltraXS is very good, the 33" HPX reference sporter was amazing, like no other gun I've ever tried - and the evaluation gun didn't even fit me that well and the layout was a FITASC pool shoot (Grimsthorpe Shooting Estate) - really mean targets, no problem. It was as though the moment you thought of pulling the trigger you were already seeing the target break - spooky.

6 weeks into a 4 month wait for the made to order/my dimensions...worth it though.

I agree the HPX seem to be a very well thought out option, I had a swing with a 33" versions a few weeks ago and it was vastly better balanced than almost anything else I've picked up. BUT it did feel too light and I'm not easily fooled, it literally felt it weighted no more than 8 lbs which to me is too light for serious clay work but the owner was more into game.

Perazzi have Digweed :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good:

Kreighoff :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

Only a matter of how many a company want to sponsor, none of the top guys and girls buy their guns, Sponsorship and martketing go a long way at selling percieved quality which may not really be their be it cars or guns,

Many smaller makes are probably just as good but cannot afford marketing budgets like the big boys

why are Parazzi's so expensive?out of interest.

Is it because they spend so much on sponership?

Or because they are not over-automated,are they finished better and better balanced because they are hand finished,or because the options list means you can personalize your gun to perfection?

Or is just the name?

Think you`re paying a heavy premium for the name/reputation.

Compare the cost of the clones/lookalikes!

The Perazzi will have a better resale value however.
