Where's the best place to look for woodcock?

In wet mild weather the best places to look are large areas of whin bushes or conifer plantations on high ground. As the weather hardens and the ground freezes look near running water, drains and streams that have sparse cover on their banks. Holly trees tend to be a favourite in frosty weather. As for Co armagh I have no idea.

Nice photo, bet the mucky sod took some cleaning :)

As for cleaning she looks after herself. A run Through a rushy field usually does the trick

hey woodcock, yeah he's a Birdrowe alright, his father is Kidnas Saxon, he's only turned 2 so he's not done a lot of huntin yet, I've had him fishin with me every day to steady him which has worked a treat, he'll not go more than 20 yards unless I tell him to get on, he was on only pup so he's built like a tank, my Father has a half brother of his which is L/W and he's as skinny as a stick, looks like your wee bitch is a good build too.
