put your egos back in their boxes and give it a rest will ya... all you've managed to do in this thread is make yourselves look like complete ***** and managed to spoil would could have been an informative thread to anyone that is interested in more modern styles of shotgun.

the simple fact is though despite the few on here you will get more than a few funny looks at strawbale grounds, the smarter registered grounds you will raise alarm bells and in the field you will run more than the average risk of the police being called. They are the facts whether you like it or not, but if you want one buy one it won't be because its a great gun its a hatstand it will be purely because you like the look of it. You just need to be aware that you may be limited where you use it and with the average shooter it will ring alarm bells. Use it for practical shotgun etc and you will fit right in, you might as well turn up on a game shoot with it that would be good for a laugh :good:

As for you Gixer I thought you were so loaded you wouldn't worry about driving the Range Rover on snow ;)

Nothing to do with ego so get off your high horse - due to the fact the UK is fairley conservative and quite frankly not a pro-gun country - Tactical guns are frowned upon - If you can't see that it's you whi is the ****....

well guys I have one and I think they are a great piece of kit and it has never let me down :good:

The sights and the grip take some getting used to, but once you can get your head round that you wont look back, but saying that yes there is some stigma assosiated with this type of shotty, and yes I agree with both sides. If everyone had one I wouldn't have any stocks to work on . But there is room for both and they serve us well for the purpose they were intended for, mine is used for rough shooting and wild boar hunting abroad. I do agree they are not for a traditional shoot.

As for clay grounds I see no reason why they should not be allowed there, as I see shooting clays is a way of honing your skills and were better to practice than a clay ground to ensure that when hunting you can afford your quarry a humane death.

just my opinion :hmm:

Hi

Hows composite feel? is it rigid enough? I've tried a few comp stocks and some have been quite flexable.

I was shooting my browning cynergy carbon fibre and me pimped up Remington yesterday in the pouring rain at my CPSA premier shooting ground , no one bats an eyelid there the composite stocks are great in all weather , and so easy to clean when you I get home .

dear god!

ignore button activated.

It's best to use the "ignore" button. It's always the same few idiots who spoil a thread. They bait you, then when you respond, they say they're "joking" or another one is, "you won't last long if you can't take a joke". Then the cycle starts again. There's only a few "plums" on here, so once you've sorted the ignore but it's fine most of the time......

To me when you go clay shooting you find 90% of the shooters admire the person who gets 100% or there abouts

Few are interested in the gun you shoot, although a high quality gun with good wood and engraving will be admired as a piece of quality

No-body gives a dam on how you dress or if you shoot mounted or unmounted

They all care about safety and dont like guns being loaded with more than two rounds

most would be a bit worried at first sight of any rambo styled shooter until they proved they were safe shooters, exactly the same as if you observed an balaclavered person on the street at night or were followed by a group of hoodies with the hood up

It seems this thread has really divided the group, much to the detriment of the original question. Shooting as pointed out in earlier replies, is a minority sport in the UK and ownership and possession of guns provokes an air of distrust in most private citizens. For this reason it's extremely depressing that we, as a minority still stand divided rather than united due to petty differences in tastes, desires etc.

We as shooters are surely doomed if we can't get on with one another.

Truce guys?? :)

Yes but it's fear of guns that makes shooting undesirable for the masses, most people that are not interested in guns can still appriciate a nice old sbs with good engraving as almost a piece if art, they would look at almost all guns on a dealers rack and understand that these guns are for some sort of sport, whether that sport be clays, pigeons or driven days.

The problem with these very tactical looking guns is that they look threatening to the average person and even to some experianced shooters. It might just be different tastes and in time this style may become more acceptable but I think at the moment they are viewed like a chavs staffy, it's only a dog but they like them looking mean, the dog might be soft but its not the impression it gives, I think for a lot of people these tactical guns just seem to misrepresent what our sport is about

So what is our sport all about?

What I mean is that to some not all shooters these guns don't look like they were designed with sport in mind, they give the impression of a gun that is designed to kill another human being, this is not a good impression to give to joe public who wants all our guns banned.

Some things in life can just give off the wrong impression, I'm sure plenty of people on here have tattoos, but how many people with them would cover them up for a job interview? It's stupid but it happens

A very good reply to a very disputed subject. Well done. :good: Sadly public opinion means a hell of a lot to everything we do in life. I have no problem with these Rambo type guns, at the same time I personaly do not like them and cant see a reason to want them. However I think that those who want them are entitled to have them if that is what they want. I am not a tweed wearing clay shot and to be honest, have never in my life met one even though I have taken part in many civillian, Army and Police compititions, that is not to say that they do not exist.

I would however say that if I ever attended at a Clay compitition shoot and was unfortunate enough to be squadded with some one who was intending on using such a gun, I would withdraw my intention of taking part in the comp. These guns have there following and why not, but that is not to say they should be allowed to be used on a comp. On saying that if some one is on the ground using it to practice, then why not as long as it was not being used in my group. I am sorry if that means I am a gun snob, but having owned a Hatsan and oath having been taken never to be so silly ever again I do think that I have good reason.

I've seen many pros and cons of theses tactical styled shotguns , if you've never had ago of one every shotgun user should give it ago as when I put all the aftermarket parts on my remington it FITTED me like a glove all fully adjustable as in LOP, Cheekpiece ... Etc. on my first maiden shoot with it I equalled my personal best in sporting clays layout, I know it's abit unusual looking but it's still takes a 12 g she'll like any other shotgun that I own :)

I suppose you use a butter knife to carve your Christmas turkey? Heaven forbid that Grandma who doesn't knife fight think you're going to slice her innards out!

I tried to make a very real point without criticising you or the guns you like, it's a shame you respond with childish replies to one of the people trying to be on the fence about it all.

In actual fact what I'm getting at is that I would carve the turkey with a carving knife like most people would but you would want to use your chainsaw because it looks cool

Oh really? Or are you just over reacting again? I suggest you have a lie down tulip, don't want you getting all flustered this close to bed time. You might have nightmares about scary men with black guns shooting more things than you.

I doubt anyone with spelling as atrocious as yours would be considered a 'snob' in any circles, so relax.
