Wesman
Alright lads, Not been on for a while. I've just moved to Lancs from greater Manchester and wondered if I need to change my SGC details. I still own my house in greater Manchester and spend some time there but my main residence is in Lancashire now. I don't currently have any shotguns. Any advice in what's best to do is appreciated. ATB, Wes
Gordon R
I know someone who has just done the reverse. They had to notify both. Tell Greater Manchester now and ask for advice. They are just about as helpful as you can get.
Vince Green
You have to notify both but technically there is no need to get the certificate reissued however most forces seem to insist that you do.

CharlieT
It is your permanent address that your SGC is registered to. All you need to do is decide which is your permanent one, which would be the one where you are registered for income tax, doctor etc and then use that one for your SGC. I have two houses and have used the above criteria for many, many years.
Wesman
Ahh I'm registered with my doctors etc at my other house in Manchester. It's only me using the house so I think I may leave it as it is.
subsonicnat
your address mate is where the guns are kept, whatever your address was at the time of register when you HAD guns is the right address: I do have two addresses on mine/ As my sons gun is registered to both of us,,, So we can both store it and use it if we wish::: But where you registered FIRST is your address,, And of course where your cabinet is Full Stop:::
welshwarrior
I do this every 2 years write to you feo and tell him what your new adress will be and the date you will live there from. He then sends your file to the new force an feo then contacts you to visit and check the gun safe gives you a new SGC or FAC from his force but same run out date and takes the old ones away. Easy

Easy Exactly this. I had exactly this last year when I moved house. I was kind of hoping they would reset the end date on the cert as mine runs out in a few months anyway, but they just re-issued a new SGC from the new force with the same end date as the old one. New FEO came out and was the first one in about 20 years of me having a license who actually checked my cabinet & guns.
