rb5037
How wet did these cartridges get. Because unless they were submerged for a long period I wouldn't worry about it and just use them. They got wet as far as the ends have surface rust , the bag was in 2"-3" of water in the flooded garage. When i went out a few weeks back with others from another bag that also got wet the odd one didn't fire. It was annoying and don't want it to happen again. If anyone wants them for clay shooting they're more than welcome, you would have to collect from Guildford area and have your gun licence with you. I would ask for a small donation for the R.N.L.I though and i would put this in the boat i have at work. Thanks for all your replies and this has been a good topic that's answered other questions. If no one want them i think I'll take them to my local police station and ask them to dispose. Thanks again for all your help.
Suffolk shooter
I must admit I didn't realise it was illegal to cut open cartridges, I've done it once or twice to show either my daughter or people new to shooting what they are made up of. I've kept the shot and primer, but thrown the wad and casing on the bonfire. If in doubt, do as someone else said and ask your local police firearms officer for his advice. At least then when it comes to renewal time, he knows he's dealing with a sensible shooter. If you can cut them open you could always try and make the homemade widgeon whistle I've put on in the Crafts and DIy section.
