heweyvts
Hi All, Recently purchased a BSA Regent 20 Bore. It's got an Oil finished Walnut Stock. Want to know what's the best way to take care of it as never had an oil finished stock before. Do I have to re-oil it, what happens if it get's wet. etc. etc. Any help greatly appreciated. If it gets wet just allow it to dry gently (don’t stick it in the airing cupboard), and then apply a tiny amount of linseed oil and rub it in well. Wipe off any excess. Do this for a couple of days and thereafter every six months or so. Does it have a small round mark on the side of the wood right next to the action.? G.M. heweyvts
Hi Graham, Thanks for the advise. I haven't noticed a make on the wood but there again haven't looked that close. Why?
Graham M
It’s just one of those little quirks with a BSA and I have had many a “Discussion†with people who reckon that certain BSA stocks have been pinned at the head. In reality they have not been pinned at all as this was a mark that was left by the machine that used to shape the original blanks, and was then filled with a wooden dowel. G.M. heweyvts
Graham, Pretty sure it hasn't but will have a look and let you know. It's a new gun think they are made by a company in Italy, not BSA themselves so probably different manufacture process.
